Flood Appeal Support.

1 February 2011

There were a lot of retail and hospitality outlets affected by the recent floods in Queensland so 1800 ONHOLD's sister company Trusonic have got onboard to help these industries get back up and running as soon as possible.

Trusonic is providing 12 month’s hire of music systems and music free to 10 retail and hospitality venues to help them get trading normally again as quickly as possible.

“I lived through the 1974 floods on the Gold Coast so I really feel for everyone across Queensland who has been affected by this event,” said Troy Cooper, managing director of Trusonic.

“We’ve been very inspired by the determination of people rebuilding their lives. Retail shops, restaurants and hotels form such an integral part the community and we want to help them get back up and running as quickly as possible.”

Whilst the value of each system and subscription is $3500, the Trusonic music system and playlists will also help restaurateurs by allowing them to suspend their PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia) licence.

“Depending on the size of the restaurant, it’s a saving of thousands of dollars in a year that they can use instead to clean and rebuild their business,” said Mr Cooper.

“At a time like this, sound systems are a real burden to pay for when you’re faced with replacing an entire kitchen and all your tables and chairs, let alone food and drink stock, but background music plays a very important part in setting the mood for the majority of restaurants.

“Also, due to the nature of the Trusonic playlists, restaurateurs will be able to ignore the PPCA bill when it comes in.”
