1800 ONHOLD Hits New Heights.

6 February 2006

Q1Gold Coast based telephone advertising firm, 1800 ONHOLD, has hit new heights, recently installing an on-hold music and messaging system at Australia's tallest residential tower, Q1.

1800 ONHOLD Managing Director Troy Cooper described the Q1 audio program as a production that “sits high above others... just like the Q1 building itself.

“Nobody likes hearing... ‘your call is important to us, we'll be with you soon’, so our copywriters created a fantastic script that really represents the image of Q1.

“There's even sound effects of waves crashing on the beach — we really put the caller in the picture. It's a great way for Q1 to talk about the different services they offer like the health spa and conference facilities. If you listen closely to the message that promotes the observation deck, you'll hear subtle wind sounds in the background. Our production team really went to town on this one and came up with a truly unique audio experience.

“Last month we installed a similar system at the ‘360 Bar’ on top of Sydney's Centrepoint Tower, so we can probably lay claim to having the most elevated on-hold marketing systems in the country!”

1800 ONHOLD started life as a one-man, spare-bedroom-based operation in 1998 after Troy (a former radio announcer and audio engineer) saw the need for a more professional and entertaining approach to telephone messaging.

The company currently boasts approximately 3,000 clients in five countries.

They have 15 full time staff and employ the talents of over 60 voiceover specialists, working from custom built sound studios on the Gold Coast.

Three years ago 1800 ONHOLD took out a Telstra and Australian Government's Small Business Award and last year were recognised as one of Australia's fastest growing companies, featuring in BRW's Fast 100. This year, 1800 ONHOLD is franchising their operation nationally.
